Improving SQL DB performace through Transaction Replication

I'm totally new to this SQL DB's I hope someone could help me out of this. We got a client whose database will be frequently accessed by nearly 300+ devices in the working hours. It was previously in the 4 Cores and 24 Gigs RAM, every users were complaining about the slow in report generation. So we planned to migrate the database to new servers (4 cores and 32 Gigs RAM each) by dividing one for database another one for Reporting using the transaction replication(They were using Crystal Reports for their reporting). Is this a right model to work or else do I have to change something or anything.

Issue

Ever since we are facing some issues in the replication. Sometime it won't replicate the data for 1 hour or more, but the connection was stable between those servers after sometime it'll resume automatically what could be the possible...
