Unable to detect SQL Server database in SQL Server Monitoring Plugin

I’m trying to detect a Microsoft SQL Server database instance using the Microsoft SQL Server Monitoring plugin in Spiceworks. I’m running SQL Server 12.0.2000.8 in a Windows Server 2016 Virtual Machine. The VM is running in VirtualBox. I’m able to detect the VM in Spiceworks but the SQL Server 2012 database is not being detected by the Microsoft SQL Server Monitor plugin.
