We've got a MS SQL 2008 R2 server database as our main CRM. We'd like to scan our files directly into the database, as opposed to scanning them first to an email address, downloading the file and renaming it and then using the front end of the database to upload it.
There would only be three option choices that need to be determined by the user:
- case number
- public/private availability
- file type (from a list of about 10)
We're looking to replace one of our copiers so I'm interested in two potential solutions:
1) A solution that works with the replacement copier so that from the copier it would just scan directly into the database.
2) A solution where we would scan to network folders and then have some sort of software regularly scanning the network folders and then inserting any new files found there into the database.
