Hi All,
Trying to add an SSL certificate to ourSQL 2008 R2server for encryption. Have added our wildcard cert onto the server but this isn't shown in the SQL Config (Had looked like not supported but this line from the Microsoft page specifically states they should be:SQL Server 2008 R2and the SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client support wildcard certificates:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189067.aspx)
I looked at internal domain certificates but have just been informed they are being depreciated and won't be valid in the next year or so. (http://www.digicert.com/internal-names.htm)
Needless to say our local domain was not created using a .com (Recommendations have always been and I think still are it is best using something like .local or .internal)
What would be the best way of proceeding? I hadn't really wanted to set up an...
