I'm sure this question comes up a lot and I hate to ask it again, but I need clarification.
Server specs:
2 sockets
12 cores
128gb
Since we are at 24 cores total and 128gb of ram, we are still able to use the Standard edition of SQL Server 2016 right? I believe (4 sockets or less)24 cores and 128gb of ram are the max for Standard.
If so, we would be eligible for Standard or Enterprise. If that's the case, my next question is can we get away with Standard? We have a different server with AAG and it is nice, but it would be really expensive to license Enterprise on this server. My needs for SQL are fast performance and high availability. The database instance would house a total of 4 user databases. These 4 databases would get hit pretty hard hence the need for so many cores. Ideally, I would like the ability to automatically...
