We are having problems with our database since we moved clients over from Windows 7 to Windows 10 last year.
This is the current situation:
Windows 7, Sophos AV: applications are working fine with our database.
Windows 10 1903,1909, Sophos AV: DB Connection breaks down once a day, some minutes after login, on ALL Windows 10 PCs , no matter which manufacturer (Fujitsu, Lenoco..). After starting applications again it will work mostly for the rest of the day.
The database server is a Windows Server 2012R2 with SQL 2016 fully patched.
What we tried so far:
- Energy saving options to High Performance
- Disable Energy Saving for Networkcards
- Set GPO to wait for network connection on boot
- Set ClientPCs to prefer IPV4 before IPV6
- Latest firmware on all Switches
- Installed Windows 10 from scratch on a clients which had worked before with Windows 7...
