We have in our environment 45 VM's. The database of vCenter server (SQL 2008 Express - 10GB Limitation) got full and obviously the service stop to respond and also all the VM's backups & Reps failed. I proceed to execute some Vmware recommendations (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalI...) in order to reduce the used space, but reduce only 350mb. Also change the Vcenter Settings to keep log for only 15 days instead of 180 days, reduced to 1 the level of statistics. Right now the service is working, but is matter of days that the DB will get full again. I know that easiest solution is to buy SQL Standard 2012 and perform the upgrade, but I want to know if there is any other workaround in order to keep the db usage low.
