We have an application installed on Windows 2012 R2 using SQL Express 2012. The application setup is installed on the workstation (Windows 7, 8.1 & 10) and connects to a server SQL Express database. Users get a Windows fault error which states ExecuteNonQuery requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed. The program closes and the users have to reopen the application.
Is this type message an application or network issue? If it's Aa network issue, what is typically the issues on the server and resolutions? Any suggestions will be helpful.
