Recently my organization got interested in BI tools for data visualization and we as the IT arm suggested Power-BI. It's convenient for our organization and really easy to use. The problem is our directors don't like to use cloud services. So we decided to user on premise report server for report sharing and presentation purposes. As per the Microsoft's website, this comes with the Power-BI premium or SQL enterprise with Software Assurance.
Power-BI premium is way more expensive for us. Also we have a need for purchasing SQL server and we can go for Enterprise version. Problem is I want to know if we purchase SQL server 2017 with SA will the Power-BI premium license permanent for us or do we have to renew our license yearly to keep using both SQL server and Power-BI report server?
