I have to backup an SQL 2000 database on a virtual server and was wondering if I'm doing it the right way.
I setup a maintenance plan that backs up the transaction logs to a network folder every 2 hours and I have Backup Exec do a full database backup every night. Anything else I should be doing? If I want to restore from a full catastrophic failure of the database, I would need to restore the database backup and then restore the log?
Also, is it normal that the "modified date" on the database MDF file doesn't seem to chage (it hasn't changed since about 20 days ago).
