Precis: Sometimes queries are lightning fast, other times dog slow.
We have a cloud based server that is running SQL Server 2012. It's very lightly used.
I access it directly from my PC through Management Studio 2014.
Most times when I connect I can run a query to display for example the top 10000 rows in a table and it's instant - under 1 second. However on some occasions it takes over 5 minutes to return the same information.
I can't see anything strange when this happens on our internet load, nor that of the remote server. Any pointers as to where to look at would be gratefully received.
My only troubleshooting so far is that we have several dsl internet connections, and I have
attempted to force the firewall to keep all traffic to the cloud server on 1 interface, just in case there was some conflict there.
