SQL Test Server Problem...

Hey guys

I'll start by saying I am no expert when it comes to SQL! I thought this would be quite straightforward though!

We have a few applications which use SQL databases, and our current DB server is old (Win Svr 2003, SQL 2005) so I have started working through testing on a new 2012 server. The most simple SQL-driven system we use is an HR program. So I have generated a .bak file from the old server, installed SQL 2012 on a new server, then logged-in to Management Studio and restored my .bak file. HR database is now on my new test server and all looks fine.

But we can't login to the HR program on the new server - and I can't figure out why!? When launching the application from a client machine, the login screen appears and requires database name and server name. So I have obviously just changed the server name to the new one. But it...
