How to setup a MS Access as a front-end to a SQL Server back end for backups?

Hello:

On a prior discussion, there was a response on how to backup an active Access 2007 database.

http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/308745-how-do-you-backup-an-active-microsoft-access-2007-database . Bill2718 had stated that:

"Using MS Access as a front-end to a SQL Server back end is not that difficult, and doing that would give you the ability to do backups on the fly with a real database engine that logs transactions and allows rebuilding of the database if something goes wrong. You could use the free Express version of SQL Server, so there would not be any real cost associated with it."

Could someone "please" elaborate on this? The more information the better.

We have a special computer that runs some equipment in a processing plant. It currently runs XP Pro, Access 2003, and SQL Express 2005. Not sure how Access and SQL Express interact, will do my research.

Any information is "really" appreciated. Thank You all!!
