We have a Dell R710 that I am looking to replace the hard drives. This server hosted our MS SQL database for our NextGen EMR and EDR databases. The system shipped with 8 300GB SAS6 10K 2.5 drives, probably done as a RAID5. Some of the drives have failed recently so I'm looking to replace all 8 drives in this system and for recommendations on the route to take concerning RAID. I have already rebuilt our failed system as a virtual machine and will be moving it to this newly refreshed system. The physical system will just be a host for a VM so that I can have the option of placing other couple of VM's on it if space allows. Details are below.
