Confused by performance metrics

Hi All

We recently sunk $20k into a brand new host to try and improve our SQL Server performance and so far the results have been somewhat lackluster. I'm working with the application vendor to try and locate a cause but am also running my own investigation on the side to get more experience with optimising SQL Server performance. I found the Free SQL Health Monitor by ManageEngine in another thread here this morning and took it for a spin to see what it could turn up and now after some further research am utterly confused.

My point of confusion is as follows:

Checkpoint Pages > 242000, Pages p/s > 12500000, Lazy writes > 8000. By my understanding all these indicate a serious memory shortage

BUT

Buffer Hit ratio = 100%, Page life > 4000, Target memory=6200MB vs 7750MB allocated with system RAM at 8.4GB out of 10GB. Indicating a pressured...
