We are preparing to deploy an end to end MIS system to handle virtually all aspects of our businesses workflow. From quoting and job ticketing to shipping and accounting all on one industry specific MIS system. While we are still deciding on which system to go with they all run on SQL Server 2012 or higher.
My challenge is calculating what I need for hardware. Of course the 800 lb gorilla is the per core licensing. Do I need to go dual processors or can I get high performance with a single 4 core processor. If I go dual processor I am looking at 10k in additional SQL license fees.
The system will have 100 users with 54 of them living in the application. 8-10 users who will be mostly pulling reports and the rest will be sales reps who occasionally will create a new record as they submit quote requests to our estimating dept.
