Last week we began experiencing a strange problem with our SQL server. For no reason our users would lose connections to the database. Restarting the service fixes the problem but we don't know why this has started.
We are running this on a virtual machine (VM Ware) running Windows 2008 R2 Standard Server. Their have been no changes to the configuration since the server was setup new about 3 months ago. The only changes would be MS updates in July 12.
There are no entries in any Event logs related to SQL when the connections go down.
