Okay everyone, I am dealing with my very first Microsoft licensing audit (everyone remembers their first time, right?)
OS licensing and Office licensing are confusing, but I've got it straightened out for the most part. Now I'm at the SQL section, and I need help.
Basically, I know nothing about SQL. I ran a report in SW to return all applications that contain the word "SQL" in the name. It came back with 48 different applications (each installed on several different servers and workstations).
I see SQL Server, native client, client tools, management studio, database engine, server compact, server browser, policies, management objects...... the list just goes on and on and on.
Okay, so here's my question: Which parts are relevant to licensing, and which parts just sort of come as "part of the package"?
Any help is greatly appreciated :D
