I have a server running Windows 2008 R2 x64 Enterprise.
It had a C and D Drive. The C Drive is the normal bootable system drive.
For whatever reason whoever installed SQL on this server directed the install to write all the program files to the D Drive.
Yesterday the D drive went total failure. I have back ups of the data, but not the image.
So today a new hard drive arrives. What do I do about the SQL Server installation? Parts of it are scattered through the C Drive and the D Drive is now totally virgin and empty.
I tried to do a Repair install but that failed. I suspect doing an Uninstall is going to fail too. Is there anything that says how to completely remove from the C drive the bits of SQL Server that may reside there.
