Can I Restore sql 2008 database from a full 2008 r2 server backup to a different machine. The current server crashed after being in the process of being setup. For various reasons Was running a full back up of the server until all was settled and could put in more sound measures.
I might have the hard drives data still available, but have not tested yet. looking for the best solution quickly as it was the financial system server.
How + steps never done the restore this way before. Always done full server restore or from separate database backup.
