I am running an application on my clients that needs to connect to a SQL 2008 server instance. If the client is on the same subnet as the SQL server, it can see the SQL server and connect to the instance. If the client is not on the same subnet, it cannot see the SQL server. Clients are able to ping the SQL server from any subnet. Is this a simple setting somewhere? Please detail steps as I am not a DB and our consultant is unavailable at the moment.
