I have just discovered SpiceWorks and am very impressed with the quality and depth of the tool. I have been rolling my own sql server specific monitoring tool for quite some time and would like to bring the functionality that I have into the spiceworks framework.
The things I currently monitor are:
sql server jobs - job run count and status per server and per job
sql logs - view log file and high light errors per server
Dashboard that gives green or red lights of sql jobs status, logs and diskspace per server
The MIcrosoft SQL Monitor does not give this level of information. Are there any other extensions or reports I should be looking at? Any tips on how to start this process of migrating my "roll your own" solution to spiceworks is greatly appreciated.
