Sql error unable to track down what is attempting to log in.

So I've been grooming the error logs of the servers i'm in charge of and correcting left over issues from the previous IT, Current ERP support, and other assorted things. I've been rooting down the causes over the last couple months in this fashion and this process has been going rather well.

I am by no means anything close to a DBA but I have been studying my butt off trying to keep up with what MSSQL demands to have for attention. but alas I am stuck, so I call on my knowledgeable brethren and sistren...

I'm getting this error in mass and I am unable to see what is causing it.

Message
Login failed for user 'server\Administrator'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database. [CLIENT: ]

Message
Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 38.

I have checked the access this login requires and it has full admin access to this machine and SQL instance.

I've check all programs that use this local login which is my backup software but I have the SA account setup on it for the SQL backup portion. Also it [backup software] does not backup throughout the day so there I can't see it attempting without generating an error of failure after a couple tries.

This continues to happen roughly about every 1 minute.

I've crossed reference the windows error logs to the sql error logs but i'm unable to add 2+2 to tie anything to them.

I have done a few million things over the last 2 weeks with this so I'm unable to list them all, and/or remember half of them, so please ask questions, I'll answer them as best as I can or get the answer. Any suggestions in where to look would be greatly appreciated.
