Good morning.
I'm having trouble with SharePoint and each time I try to run the configuration wizard, I wait about 20 seconds and get the error message, Cannot connect to database master at SQL server at server\SharePoint. The database might not exist, or the current user does not have permission to connect to it.
I have uninstalled every listing of SQL Server in Programs and Features as well as SharePoint 2010 Foundation as per another posting in Spiceworks because I was getting this error. I'm unable to use the SQL Server Management Studio as well.
I have added ports 1433 and 1434 to my firewall and have added sqlbrowser.exe as well.
When running the configuration wizard on SharePoint 2010, I choose create a new server farm.
Database server: server\sharepoint (and I've used sharepoint2 because i know that has never existed)
Database name: SharePoint_Config (and I've used Sharepoint_ConfigDatabase2 never existed)
Username: domain\adminaccount
Password: account password
No matter what I try, I get the SQL error. It seems like something is busted in SQL and I'm not sure how to just start from scratch aside from reloading the server. That would be exceptionally difficult because of their business needs and downtime restrictions.
Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated.
