So here is the problem we are having. we use two SQL servers running Microsoft SQL server 2012 on Windows server 12. SQL1 and SQL2 are set up for mirroring and also have a witness server. Those SQL machines have been running on DC1 and DC2 for years, however, DC1 and 2 are running server 08. So we spun up three new Domain controllers using server 16. So last night we had a maintenance period to switch dns to all our production servers and retire the old Domain controllers.
The old domain controllers were DC1-10.119.249.130 and DC2 10.119.249.131.
So heres the problem. When we went down for maintenance we switched DNS on the SQL machines to point to the new Domain Controllers/DNS servers and rebooted. At this point the mirroring broke and would just stay disconnected. As soon as we changed the SQL servers to point back at DC1 and DC2...
