Situation-
I've joined a company and have just has a phone call from one of the users stating that they were unable to upload there data as it said the server is out of space. I have gone onto the server and can see it is completely maxed out (140gb), I have managed to find some temp files and log files to clear around 5GB so they can work for the time being.I am not well trained on using SQL Server however need to get this rectified. I ran a program and can see that all the space is coming from .LDF, .MDF, .svclog files. I have read around about different model backups and I believe this database is set to FULL. I think my option would be too set my database to simple then shrink? But I am not sure, can someone please point me in the right direction as to how to 1. Clear space? 2. Prevent this from happening again.
