Hello Spiceheads,
We're having an issue... and I'm not an SQL admin or power user even so I need insight. We have a contractor, this contractor connects to our network via VPN and AD credentials. At first we had some routing issues reaching the server, but now he can reach the server. If he uses Microsots SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and uses "SQL Server Authentication" with his AD account he gets access denied. If he uses one of the service accounts, he can get in. Our DBA has looked at it and sees him as setup properly (AKA the same as one of our in house DEV). Our in House developer... logs on to our domain directly and uses Windows Authentication.
I think the issue might be that the Authentication isn't ... compatible. The contractor does not use our Domain to log in to windows so he can't use Windows Authentication, but......
