The data starts on the backend of a website. From there, I convert it from .csv to .txt and make it tab delimited. The reason is that some of the fields have " imposed on them and then possess too many characters.
When I import it, i get the following error

Error 0xc02020a1: Data Flow Task 1: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "pchg" returned status value 6 and status text "Conversion failed because the data value overflowed the specified type.". (SQL Server Import and Export Wizard) the field in question is pchg (percentage change). It is numeric (7,4). Upon inspection via excel, I discovered that there were no fields in violation of this.. meaning 7 to the left of the decimal and 4 to the right. However, I thought that cutting off 2 additional characters from the right would be sufficient and it still says...
