Have an interesting problem today. One of my DB admins noticed that the SSMS 17.9.1 update is presenting itself. He went to install it and then it kept installing and reinstalling itself. And it appears to be doing it successfully. as seen attached.
I tried stopping the Windows Update Services and then deleting the softwaredistribution directory and then restarting the services. That appeared to have worked at first. Then checking for updates again, the issues restarted.
My next step was to simply uninstall the update and try that again but I cannot for the life of me find the update being mentioned in the "Uninstall an update" page.
Not sure what to try next. I found this article but it doesn't appear to be the same issue. Any ideas?
