Delete my anti-virus server (escan) in Microsoft SQL Server Management STudio

Hi there,

I've just uninstalled the antivirus software called eScan from our server. Unfortunately, the uninstallation did not include removing the eScan database which I think stored all the downloaded client updates.I contacted the eScan support staff and they told me simply to delete the folderC:\Program Files (x86)\MSSQL.1\MSSQL. I'm a little worried that this is not the best way to do things.

Can anyone advise me what is the best process to follow in order to delete the eScan database instance? Do I seriously just delete the folder? Or do I do the deleting via Miscrosoft Sql Server Management Studio? Or in the least, first disconnect the instance, and then delete the folder?

I'm making guesses here. I'd really appreciate someone more knowledgable than myself to please advise on the best method?
