I haven't done this before as it had worked for me but I want to make sure before I do something incorrectly.
I just turned on the SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) and when I access the portal (http://servername/reportserver), I'm getting an error. See below.
The report server cannot decrypt the symmetric key that is used to access sensitive or encrypted data in a report server database. You must either restore a backup key or delete all encrypted content. (rsReportServerDisabled) Get Online Help
- For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors'
I can go ahead, open the configuration manager, back up the keys and "Delete Encrypted Content". But I want to make SURE that it's not going to kill anything else. Anyone have any ideas if it's safe to do so?
