Company is looking to deploy Microsoft BI and generally they don't know the questions to ask because they don't know what it is they don't know or enough about BI outside of they heard the term in some business classes. What they do know is they want to use online Report Server and pay for it monthly but data house all the data locally. They will have 100-200 users accessing the Report Server to run and design reports.
So could anyone touch on the basic requirements for the local server(s) design and cost and the monthly fees. I think I have it figured out at around $5200/month for the online cost but I'm a noob at this product and just guessing. For the physical server can you run just Standard SQL or is Enterprise required? How about the Core count (and I know that is just a shot in the dark), do you go heavy on the Cores (16) or back...
