This table, employerlist, begins as a very large fixed width text file. 91 columns and of which 4 are numeric. When I go to select top 2000 rows, all looks fine. However, when I export it, it puts the 91st field, employment on to the next row. Employment is numeric (9,0) if that is of any insight.
As for my process, I use the import and export wizard. I first chooose SQL Native Client 11.0 for the source and then find the empty flat file as the destination. From there, delimited format and no text qualifier. Next, I choose the source table, dbo.employerlist, and then CR-LF as the row delimiter and tab as my column delimiter. I choose tab because some of the data has commas and quotes built into them. Any ideas as to why this would be doing this?
