SQL Server locally vs San

Hello all, I'm looking to possibly move to a SAN in our environment but I'm not sure if I can justify the price from a performance standpoint. That is the biggest factor at this time is performance. We currently have SQL Server 2014 running on 15k rpm drives in a raid 10 configuration. We are looking at possibly moving to a 16gig Fiber Channel SAN with 12 SSDs (not sure which raid configuration to use at this time). Most of the current io latency is from writes on our main database, not on the tempdb or the log files. In my mind I will benefit from moving to ssd storage but will I lose any thing by moving it off the server itself and moving it to a SAN? Or does the ssd improvment outway the loss of moving it off the server? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated. At this time I'm only focused on performance, not uptime or...
