I am testing SQL Server 2017 on a Windows 10 machine. This instance worked fine for several days but for some reason will no longer accept any logins, (using the setup method as login using Windows Authentication.)
Logged in as Administrator, I went to uninstall SQL using the standard method of uninstalling and all appeared to go fine except for the fact that SQL 2017 never uninstalled. I researched Microsoft's documentation:Uninstall an Existing Instance of SQL Server (Setup), and applied their method, but though I am getting the message that SQL 2017 was successfully uninstalled, it is still there. It's like a house guest that refuses to leave.
Lastly, there is no system protection software, (like Deep Freeze) running on this machine that would prevent an uninstall.
Since this is a test machine, not in production, I am not really in any...
