We currently have SQL server 2017 express installed on one of our servers. We have a number of in-house web apps and VB apps that store the back end data on the server. When the user returns data into an app it is not particularly quick.
The question is should i upgrade to SQL server 2017 standard. Express has limitation on processor and RAM usage, but the standard version looks quite expensive (74 users, or 12 cores).
Would the end user notice any significant difference in performance if we upgraded?
