New SQL install, which is "less bad": a DC or a Sharepoint server?

Installing SQL 2012. I have two machines available: one is a domain controller and a primary file and print server, the other is hosting Sharepoint 2010 with the built-in database.

This SQL installation will not be hosting anything heavy-duty. We just have a new data guy and Access and Excel aren't cutting it for the reporting and cleaning up he's doing.

The setup program is saying installing SQL on a DC is not recommended, it does not say it's not supported.

I really can't conceive of any issues with putting it on the DC, which would be my first choice, even though Sharepoint is lightly used.

Any insights?
