Change how I view SQL data in a table displayed in VB

I’m new to visual basics and am self learning currently.

I have worked out how you display a SQL and assign columns in VB

However a lot of my data is meaningless to most people who view it.
Is there a way to manipulate the data for example
If I had the number 1 in my table it would display as The word RED where as if the data was the number 2 it would display as the word BLUE.

It’s something I can’t seem to google the right way, so any help would be much appreciated.
