SQL moving from Windows Server 2008R2 to 2016 is very slow.

Hi Everyone,

We are in process of migrating from server from 2008R2 to 2016. I have an existing 2008R2 server running SQL2012, server is virtual with 4 vCPU and 32GB of RAM. Storage is on a tiered SAN and the LUN holding this server is in the high performance tier which can utilize the flash array on our SAN. I built a 2016 server with same version of SQL, same specs forCPU and RAM, and is on same storage. Both servers have latest updates/patches for Windows and SQL installed.

We moved a fairly small DB to the new server. When doing queries in app after the move, the new server takes 5-10 seconds to return a response and sometimes the app will time out randomly during the day because it can't reach SQL. On the old server there were nevertimeouts, and queries took literally 1 second or faster. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff
