We are migrating server to new equipment. So I installed SQL Server on the new box, migrated databases/tables/users/passwords to the new server (Using dba-tools Start-DbaMigration). When I fire up SQL Management Studio on the new box, I can log in, see all the databases/tables/users. The data is there as well, so all looks good.
We used a MS Access app as a front end. So then I went to testing. I renamed the old server and change its IP and then renamed the new server to the old-server-name, and change the ip to the old-server-ip, thinking it would be this simple, but it is not. When I fire up the MS Access app, I get a popup message about ODBC unable to connect to SQL Server... (Sorry, can't test it right now, as it has been switched back to original settings).
