JDBC Driver for SQL Express ?

Hi All,

I need to whitelist an IP for access to a production database that will connect via JDBC. The DB is using sql server express, will this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/jdbc/microsoft-jdbc-driver-for-sql-server also work for sql server express or only sql server? I cant find any specific documentation from microsoft or any other online forms regarding this.
