We have a secondary location with an Internet VPN back to headquarters. All of our SQL databases are housed at headquarters. Most of the important applications (like our ERP) are handled via our Citrix server from the other location. But the label printing software (not usable via Citrix) does some lookups on the SQL server - for example, the user types in the item number and it pulls in the description, etc.
They get frustrated because it takes 5-10 seconds after typing a letter to do the lookup before you can type the next letter. Then they get in a rush and type something in wrong. It would be nice to have a local copy of the SQL data so they could have better performance.
What is the best (ie. cost effective) way to replicate SQL data to another location? I'm sure I could just install a second SQL server on site, but they really only...
