Hello All,
We've had a request to extend a drive because of growing logs. I've advised that the database team should fix the growing log issue (it's been growing for 3 weeks to fill the drive) otherwise all we are buying is time.
Apparently they got back to me and said that a job has been created that shrinks logs twice a day.
I wanted to see how they did it. When i checked, there is indeed a new "shrink log" job, but I noticed that this USER_DATABASES - LOG job is disabled for about the last two weeks.
Is the point of this job to shrink the log files automatically after backing them up every time it runs (ie have our DB guys created a job to solve a problem that would have been fixed by enabling this) or is it just a red herring?
