SQL Transaction Logs and Databases Files on Different Drives

Hello Experts,

I understand that to improve the performance of an SQL Server it is better to put the transaction log files and the database files on 2 different physical drives...So, I have 2 drives "C" and 'E"...the C drive is on Raid 10 with 7200 RPM drives.....the E drive is also on RAID 10 with 15K drives....the question is:

I understand the transaction logs should be on the faster drives, therefore I will put them on the E drive (15K drives)......the Database files would stay on the C drive (slower 7200 drives)....is this a good strategy? Even though the database files would be on slower drives? Or would I see better performance having both transaction log files and database on the same E drive files since they are on faster drives?

So basically, is it better to have the transaction log files and the database files on different...
