I cannot for the life of me get some old instances of SQL 2005 express editions removed on our server to clean up and remove since it is no longer used or supported.
It was a leftover piece of old version of Backup Exec along with couple of other things that are no longer in use.
I get nothing but errors trying to uninstall via add/remove programs.
I have also tried performing msiexec -x force uninstall but it doesnt work and I get windows installer saying that the feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. So apparently the uninstall sources have disappeared.
Not sure where to go after this. I feel only option at this point is to do a OS wipe and clean install.
