Deploying a new SQL server, the specs are as follows:
- Dell R730
- 128GB RAM
- PERC730 Internal
- PERC830 External
- 2x 300GB 10k SAS
- 4x 300GB 15k SAS
- 14x 146GB 15k SAS External (MD1220)
The machine will be dedicated for production SQL server, our other physical servers all run hyper-v and everything is within a VM. My question here is with this machine dedicated to SQL would it make sense to run hyper-V role and then visualize the SQL server inside it? Running this way would make it similar to other hardware and easier to manage, the downside would be the performance hits the hypervisor will eat up.
For disk management, based on vendor recomendations (seperate drives for os, tempdb, log, and data files:

- Disk2 - SQL Data 4x 300GB 15k - RAID10 - PercH730
