We don't have SQL admin and have had some turnover in the four years I've been at my company. We have a report writer who is creating reports from scratch for departments on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure some of these reports should exist already. We use InfoMaker and SQL2008R2 (Migrating to SQL2014 soon) for report building.
What's the best way for cataloging or tracking what SQL reports exist? There has to be a method where the report writer can refer to this catalog to see if a report exists before starting on a new one. The painstaking task of running each report and tracking it manually seems daunting.
