I'm pretty new to SQL and my new job requires that I know more then I actually do, I know in time I will get there but for now I am going to run this one by the awesome group of very knowledgeable individuals that frequent these forums:
One of my supervisors is a bit of a hoarder with his data. He envisions that we would be able to keep an entire back up of our SQL database daily, and then be able to load it up at the drop of a hat to see the numbers for that particular point in time. I've checked around in SQL Server Management Studio on our test bed and I can do the back ups, no problem. But I don't believe that they can be simply loaded like he would like...
Maybe I am not going about the backups correctly as there are some options there that I am not familiar with, or maybe his request in unrealistic. It seems like it...
