We have a 2012r2 server running RDS. It is not a DC or running any other server roles. Twice, once in December and once a few days ago, it has rebooted for updates (as scheduled by an agent service we run on the server) and when it came up the RD Management service would not start. Attempts to start it manually would fail with the error "The Remote Desktop Management service terminated with the following service-specific error:%%2284126209". It has been rebooted numerous times between these two incidents without issue. Logging into WID with SQL Management Studio and taking the DB offline and bringing it back up resolves the issue and allows RD to run. But now that it's happened twice, we want to identify the root cause of the database failure.
This error always seems to correlate with an instance of RDS coexisting with AD DS on Server...
