Secondly, I have a question about SQL. I dont know much about it but here is where I am at.
We run a very old accounting software called Explorer. Previously, Explorer ran on a local server in our building. Both the app server and SQL server were one.
Now, we have migrated the application to a datacenter in our city. And it is presented to the users via Citrix. The app runs fine, But reporting takes 4-5 times as long as it used to. Some reports take up to 3 hours to complete, where they were taking between 15-30 minutes previously.
I have tested running the application directly on the worker server rather than through citrix, and reporting takes just as long.
Now with this old application, comes an old database, with no WHERE clauses or Indexes... The problem is I am not a DBA and we are getting alot of...
